I have spoken to the Caloundra sales manager last week, he was unwilling to talk my complaints about the vibrations seriously saying the car was fine after they fitted the new tires. I went out on part of the Bruce Hwy that has a 110 limit the following day and it was not fixed, the vibrations were less but not gone and still very noticeable when sitting at those speeds using cruise control. And using the GPS to verify the speed was 110km/h and not 105 as the tires are slightly smaller being 225/40 and not 215/45. So at 100km/h on the speedo you are actually doing only 95, doesn't seem like much but it makes a difference when the vibrations only come in at a true 100km/h or above. I would like to deal with Maroochydore from now on.
Re above - I think one issue is because the car have 225/40 on it (like many over VRX owners) it runs about 5% slow meaning 110 is about 105 on the GPS and 100 is more like 95 so no vibrations.
Are 215/45 tires for the 18" really a lot cheaper than 225/40?
