Hi guys,

I just bought an 09 lancer and I found this happens occasionally as well.

It's pretty damn annoying.

The lancer was purchased second hand from a dealer and I'm still under the statutory warranty. Is this something worth following up, given I bought it from a holden dealer and I'm not sure what they'd do....

1. given this issue is near impossible to demonstrate
2. given they aren't a mitsu dealer and don't have the parts to deal with it anyway.

Anyone have any idea?

I've posted this as a reply in an existing thread for this issue as well.

Might be worth taking it in and talking to them about it, but other then that welcome to the Forums and good luck.

If it's under Stat warranty there are certain things they are required to fix. Usually if buying from a dealer other than the manufacturer (ie Holden not mitsubishi) Holden will send it to another Mitsubishi dealer to diagnose and hopefully repair if its covered. No harm in trying.

And Welcome :)
I took the road less travelled, and that made all the difference.
