I topped mine up before going down to Wakefield on Saturday with Castrol Power Steering Fluid I picked up from Supercheap for $7.49 for 500ml

Going by the MSDS it's recommended for use with Mitsubishi Power steering fluid

So far no problems with it.

it should not run low, unless you have a leak

and stick to oem fluid, flush and bleed, the fluid should be bright red and sweet smell. if its dark and burnt rubberish smell time to replace

the oem fluid is much thicker and more stable at higher temps compared to non oem fluids. Castrol, Amsoil, Penrite, Nulon where like water consistency compared to oem

The closest aftermarket one that came close to oem specs was Motul Dexron 3 which you can get though autobarn.

But hey, a new power steering pump is only a couple of hundered dollars
