Today I went to Gympie (for reasons I shall reveal later on), and on the way I discovered this thing called "public "transport".
"public transport" it turns out is an alternative to what we civilised people get around in, commonly referred to as a 'car'
The first part of the trip on this "public transport" was, in theory at least, quite attractive; A nice blue Mercedes, chauffeur-driven, called a "bus" - it all sounded great until I discovered I would have to share it.
Fair enough I thought, people car pool on occasion so why not... Turns out it kept stopping ever few minutes and letting on complete strangers, the vast majority of whom were very, very old and didn't chip in for the petrol money, which I thought was rude.
Anyway, when the "bus" dropped me off, I got onto this thing called a "train" which is like a "bus" except has a special road that doesn't have any nasty stop signs, or intersections. I'd like one of those roads myself!
After sitting back and letting someone else drive for a change, I arrived in Brisbane and get onto another "train" that's called a "Tilt Train" - apparently it's designed to fall over at high cornering speeds. Luckily this didn't happen and I had a lovely trip all the way to Gympie.
This is a "Train":
Inside it's a lot like a plane, but doesn't actually get off the ground... weird really:
Think I'll stick to driving myself places - much quicker...
So why did I got to Gympie today...? - here's a hint:
