I like that idea but maybe somewhere warmer or coastal...

Starting at Tumut and do an anti-clockwise loop of the Snowy Mountains going down to Kancobahn then on the Alpine way up to Thredbo and then back to Tumut for dinner. I have done this drive a few times. It's a good days drive. There is a motel in Tumut owned by a car enthusiast who has good local knowledge of all the great roads.

Acksherly, I think Sleeper's idea is the best so far (yeah, I know - who'd o' thought!), as Darryl points out, lots of nice twistys, plenty to do & see, loads of photo opportunities - plus there's a series of different days drives (Steve - get onto your DriveDay Plan-O-Matic and see if you can't cobble together a few suggested drives - you too Darryl).
As mentioned, it's 'off-season', so there'll be less people around, accommodation should be more moderately priced.
It's not too far for the NSW & Vic members and if we Queenslanders go together, we could organise an overnight stop-over around the halfway mark...
Wonder if we could fit in a drive round the Nasho too!

Yeah... there's a fair bit to do around Jinders and Thredders in the warmer months - the local tourist authorities do quite a bit of work to keep the area going over summer.
Plus it'll be cold, which will keep the Victorians and Tasmanians happy, it's in NSW, so the Bluesers won't have far to go, a doable distance for the South Australians and it'll be a nice change for the Queenslanders from having to put up with all this sunshine and beautiful climate...

Yeah I'm keen for a Jindabyne... I did suggest it a little while ago but was rebuffed. Anyway, I did do some research... A house sleeping 18 was $3650 for Thursday 2nd to Tuesday 7th inclusive. So that equates to about $200 a piece keeping in mind that there are 4 queen beds so that counts for 2 people.
For those interested check out these links. Its 2 sides of one big house.

I have done some other research in regards to accommodation but this is the only person I've heard back from in regards to pricing.

I'm pretty sure that bloody Michelin sticker on my bonnet killed me........
I'll be living in VIC in 109 days (but who's counting) and I've already told Tim that I want to go to Jindabyne in winter so I can go skiing again
Somewhere that's not too far of a drive from Melbourne would be nice, so we could take the Evo without having to fill up 27 times just to get there
