The Plastidip Saga: Episode I (Pics!)

Postby ThrillCosby » Sat Jun 28, 2014 8:51 pm

So I stumbled on the magical stuff that is Plasti Dip a couple of weeks ago.
In case you're not aware, it's basically a spray-on rubber coating that can be used to give a different colour/texture to almost anything (the best bit is, it peels right off if you change your mind!)

I've seen a lot of people Plasti Dip the grille of their Lancers, but what about inside the car? I always kinda thought the grey-on-grey of our sunvisors, dome lights and emergency handles was a little bland...so I decided to give it a shot!

We all know what our interiors look like, but here's a before shot anyway:

Dunno about you guys, but I'm very pleased with the result!

lol i've had the same idea, sadly plastidip isn't so good on fabrics.
and Adam, have a look at another product called "peelcoat" its the same thing as plastidip but with a smoother finish to it, i prefer it after having tried both.

you can get it at autobarn :D

Plastidip is too gripy and rubbery for my liking.

Hmm...it's also $7 instead of $20...I'll be sure to give that a look, thanks!

Mark, that sure sounds interesting, if a little bold for my personal tastes. If only plasti dip was any good on fabric..

Is there anything I need to be careful with before unscrewing the sun visors?!
