In asnwer to daveee,

I chose the

2008+ Mitsubishi Lancer Eibach Pro-Kit Lowering Springs
1.2" Front drop
0.8" Rear drop

vs

2008+ Mitsubishi Lancer Tein S-Tech Lowering Springs
2.1" Front drop
1.9" Rear Drop

So if we're already having a problem with lowering, I didn't want the ones with the most massive drops.

I would also say I agree that coil overs would be the best way to go but the pricing is a different league:
Eibach Springs: A$490 delivered + A$200 install + A$55 alignment = A$745.00
Coilovers = A$1,000+ to begin with for the part?

I suspect I can get away with the Eibach Pro Kit without too much scraping... .

I am looking for this car to take me 5 years. 1 year down so far, 4 more to go so coilovers may be abit of any overkill for me then.

I don't see myself making it big on the financial front and with the need to start a family, funds will be needed elsewhere so I can conservatively hope to be in a position to buy the next Olympic Edition Lancer in 3 years time as an update en route to Evo11 or Evo12. Provided Mitsu survive till then.

Following the delivery of the GReddy exhausts, the same dealer would like to discuss a deal for the eibachs. Same problem we come back to. If we buy from the US, we pay around A$350 each (group shipped). However, there's no warranty.

If we buy local, it's A$490 delivered to your own place and warranty is in tack.

We still can't work out which one is worthwhile. I'm tending towards the local purchase.

I'm just wondering - would it be better to lower the back more than the front? coz our rear end is kinda high...

Yeah, Ryan_C could be the one to explain this. Why are these lowering springs done this way where the back is less than the front?
