hello, new RALLIART owner from sydney ;D plz help with tune

Postby greenzone5950 » Thu Apr 24, 2014 11:32 pm

hello peeps, names marty, I recently bought a white RALLIART 2009 model. its an upgrade from my previous 350z, yes the ralliart is faster and handles better xd. the 350z drifted and had more torque from the get go though, but overall im happier with the ralliart as it can be tuned easily so i was thinking about making it faster on a budget.

to my understating the gst base map +ams boost pill is the best way to go.
so i was wondering if anyone can help me find the cheapest boost pill
they go for about $50 shipped from ebay but i was wondering if there is any where else that offers them cheaper.

also would you guys recommend me buying a tatrix cable for $220 and flashing it my self. or is there anyone i can borrow it from in Sydney, id be happy to pay if i have to.

i also got recommended by my friend to get it flashed by someone who is also a member on this fourm but i dont know their name, my mate said hll do it for $250 plus he will unlock the super sports mode and LC. which is a big plus because i wont be able to do it with the tatrix cable, another unit is needed for that xd. so by going with the second option which is have it flashed by someone else ill be getting SS mode and LC.
so yeh please let me know what you guys think. oh and please don't be afraid to put your vote in for the poll^^. 8)

Beeble does good work on all the CJs, he is the man to see. I would go to him if I was you, to make sure it's done right and your happy with it from the get go

Welcome, wow you've certainly done your research Marty. Boost pill is available from Megatron on these forums, AK Racing - they distribute Ultimate Racing branded boost pills. Same functionally as AMS or other branded pill, fully compatible with GST basemaps.

I have the GST basemap tune with stock pill, and even that has changed the car's characteristics noticeably. GST maps also contain tweaks to the SST clutch pressure and slip values, and offers an improvement in that regard.

If you're going all out and considering a custom tune from a pro, perhaps also consider a 3 port boost controller instead of a replacement boost pill. It will offer you more precise boost control, and tends to hold boost higher up in the rev range.

Members of ClubCJ who are able to help out with the etuning: Beeble/Merlin, you can't go wrong with either, they're two of the best. Merlin is based in Sydney, so you may have better access to him locally.

SST firmware upgrade for LC and Super Sport modes (via MUT3) - I 'm not sure if anyone or any workshop does it in Syd. Maybe MRT in Rhodes, Tunehouse in Marrickville... but the only place I know for sure is Road Track Rally in Victoria.

I have a tactrix and if you come along to one of our local meets/mini-meets I can certainly help you flash your ECU if you're keen (remembering the associated risks involved).

$250 for a GST flash tune and a SST flash?, i`d go for that.

a custom tune will cost u a lot more even if u have access to a tactrix, also for a custom tune u need either a tuner with a portable AFR gauge or install one yourself.

the only advantage of buying your own tactrix cable is u can custom tune the RA at a later date.

HIya, I'll message you on facebook mate

I also do SST flashing , I have my own MUT3 computer and FWIW I showed RTR how to do it :)
It is now possible to flash the SST using the tactrix cable but it does take a bit of messing around, you have to pay for some software and I'm not sure if anyone in Australia has done it that way yet.

yes MRT in Sydney has a MUT3 also but I have no idea what the charge to flash the Ralliart SST

Just wanted to put my thoughts into this. I just finished my tuning with beeble yesterday and you will not regret it. The power you gain is ridiculous. If you want to try my car out pm me and you can see for yourself :)

I used the ams one from eBay. It was $38ish where I got it from like 6 months ago. I did remote tuning with beeble, so he sends a map and I do logs for him and send it back. Then he fixes the map then I try it again until it's right. He's very prompt with his emails so it actually doesn't take very long.
