Lancer Fortis / Lancer IO
Forgive me if this has been brought up before (I'm still fairly new to this...)
I stumbled on these while searching for detailed specs on the NAES Lancer:
"The new Lancer was released on September 15, 2007 in Taiwan and has been named Lancer Fortis...
...However, unlike other Lancer models in USA and Japan, Mitsubishi has changed the front and rear ends to make it look like a family car"
The Fortis (white) looks a bit 'BMW' to me and the IO a bit 'Honda':
Not a fan of the tail lights though:

`
Yeah, I've seen that one - I believe it's being manufactured locally by Proton (?)
Interesting comment you make, the Camry is considered a 'luxury car' in parts of Asia (Taiwan definitely - I worked for a Taiwanese company and the new GM bought a Camry and we all laughed at him...!), so why not the Mitzi - after all it's a better car![/img]

Well that's it, standards and wages in Taiwan are lower, companies like mitsubishi and Toyota try and get in on that by marketing there cars as luxury models, I was in Indonesia a few years ago and the family I stayed with had a Toyota wagon, apparently they are a luxury model and very popular there

I agree - reckon they would have sold thousands...
(and yes, I know Mitsubishi will point you to the ASX, which is a nice car, but it's a soft-roader, not a road car...)
@D - VW/Audi?
