Help -Water Stains

Postby Luke » Sat Feb 08, 2014 10:38 am

So on my front glass I have this really f'n annoying water stains that won't go away when I wash my car. I looked it up and found out Methalated Spirits or Sugar Soap should remove it. Neither worked. Anyone got any ideas?

Autoglym glass polish works fairly well you may need to do it a few times.

Try a dab of white spirits - fixes pretty much everything!

(white spirits is just hydrocarbons - basically petrol without any of the additives)

I've already tried methalated spirits, what's the difference between that and white spirits?

Methylated spirits is alcohol-based, white spirits is hydrocarbons (basically petrol) and will dissolve oil-based glues etc. And it's quite cheap, you can get it fro any hardware store.

Don't use thinners, different altogether.

Toothpaste can sometimes help - it acts like a coarse polish.
