Blue interior lights

Postby Zaphod » Wed Feb 05, 2014 5:19 pm

Hi All,

I've seen a couple of members have blue interior lights in their Lancers and I want to do the same myself - do I need to make sure these will be canbus-compatible, or will any ol' light do?

If someone has 'blued' theirs, what type/size did you use? - will the big 16-LED ones fit, or should I buy the dimmer, more expensive festoon-style?

Let me know!
Cheers!

If you're talking about the dome light then yeah any old LED will do. I just picked up a 16 LED from Super Cheap the wiring is just an adjustable festoon so you just twist to size then pop it in.

It's actually not hard just tapping a positive to the right source and a ground negative, there is a YouTube video with a US lancer, same idea though

I used these:

They are brighter than some of the cheaper ones

Thanks for the tips guys - the super-bright ones on eBay look ok (plus Nerang's not that far from me, so I might try & hit him up for a cash price!

Sorry to hear about the flickering Stacey....

When your looking for one I would recommend making sure the LEDs are 5050 type. They produce a brighter light.

Here's the one I got for my dome light and it fits perfectly:

Yep, just any old festoon will do, not 100% sure what size the lancer takes, I think the ones I bought were slightly too big but I squeezed them in haha.

At the time I read a thread in here saying 31mm, Ohwell works fine I think 29mm is uncommon the smallest I found was 31mm
