First Lancer on E85 in Australia ? :P

Beeble and i went for a drive. and made the 98 tune run with no flames or poping and fuel efficient as possible. On the 2nd map is the E85 tune. With crazy pops and a little bit of flames hehe

These maps can be changed by holding down the Cruise control button ON/OFF :) Unfortunately since my car isnt an evo. the light doesnt come on to show me ive changed MAPS.... But Beeble will nut it out and wait for Tephra's new update .

Heres the figures.

Nice and smooth power curve!

Image

Did a before and after.

98 fuel was around the 150kw ATW mark. on 11psi
E85 is around 170kw ATW. 11psi

So 20kw gain from changing fuels !

Smells better then petrol ahah cheaper and reads almost no emissions :)

BUT yes, it burns upto 30% quicker! But worth it.

Lol cool. Let me know how long a tank of fuel lasts you. I get around 300km before the fuel light

Would you say awd, and the weight of the awd system increases your consumption?

even on 98, Denis was getting like 450-500km to a tank with the turbo on. No Evo I know of gets more than about 400km on a combined city/highway tank!
So I expect we might see 350 on e85 if we're lucky.

It is such a shame United is pretty much pricing E85 out of the market though. First it was 30c cheaper than 91. then 25c. then 20c. and now it is only 16c cheaper than 91, once again running 98 is the better "cost per kilometre" fuel.
but E85 is so much more fun! :)

increased drivetrain losses, and pushing more weight around can't help!
but AWD doesn't wheelspin in 1st and 2nd like this thing does heheheh

450-500 combined? That's pretty good!

Did there need to be any changes to the fuel system for it to be able to run E85 or?

evo injectors and evo fuel pump. the rest is stock NA lancer.

That is great economy out of the Renault! the 4B motor family seem to be thirsty beasts compared to a lot of the other jap and euro motors of similar age. I imagine the RS250 with 184 at the motor would be pretty similar to this thing on 98 fuel. but there's just no way I could eek 600km out of it I don't think.
