Plastic Lips for stock bodykit to protect it.

Postby AfterxEffect » Fri Dec 20, 2013 5:08 pm

Looking for something to clip to the bottom of my 08 CJ Lancer. I have a rough idea what I want but I have no idea where or how much it will cost or what type I should get!

What I'm looking for is a plastic lip to go on the bottom of my front bumper and sideskirts to make it look good plus to protect my exterior as my car is lower by a little.

Hopefully this helps explain it!

Thanks guys! After

Hi Daniel,

I bought the centre lip in the above link from Rick years ago when the club did a group buy.

FYI - Fitting:

It should fit very well and can be fitted by 4 screws, 2 underneath, and 2 on top (2 each end) where it goes over the top of the bumper lip at bottom of the intake grill area.

I used a short self tapping screw approx 1/8" with a built in flat washer type head then sprayed them with black plasti dip. Position it, work out where you will put screws and pre drill lip then replace on car then mark holes or drill thru into bumper. Easy.

Don't drill too close to edge of lip in case it breaks, splits. I think min had 2 holes on bottom when I got it but I drilled 2 new ones, Mine did not have any self adhesive strips etc and I didn't want to use a liquid adhesive from a caulking gun. Don't over tighten screws as the bumper and lip will flex when you are driving.

You will need to get front of car off ground with a trolley jack or 2 emergency jacks that come with car spares and a couple of stands ,cinder blocks etc to get enough room to slide under and use drill.
I hope that helps if u decide to get it. Meesage me if u have any Q , Cheers.

yeah mate that's routhly what I want, but i've seen some that go right around the whole front bumper so it got like a front lip.

But they could be custom made idk!

oh, that doesn't sound too good if its a little bent and cracked! I'm spending alot of money on it so I'd expect it too actually look good even if its protecting my car! haha

It was from shipping just slightly twisted, easily straightened out, as for the chip I have no idea why but it is isolated to the one spot maybe just bad luck, barely visible unless you know it is there or you are up close there should be a couple of close ups on my car thread

You will also need the vrx air dams to fit this lip, that is pretty much the same with all of the lips that you will find, if not there are plenty of pics here, https://www.facebook.com/iX.Lazic/media ... 936&type=3

Air Dams? Shouldn't the VRX and VR be the same? Or close too?

Close to, the vrx has has slightly extended front air dams as can be seen here and this is what the lip moulds around :
