There's always the Spirit of Tasmania, that goes to Melbourne :3 Unfortunately it's kinda expensive :P but it'd definitely be worth it :) Definitely something that I'm going to do next year sometime with a bit of luck! :P Hopefully then too, I'll have a few more mods on my car :P

Heya Erin welcome to the club!
How's the car going?
It sucks that you live so far away from Adelaide. If possible try to come down to one of our meets/cruises. We do quite a few up north way. Its a great way to meet everyone and see our awesome cars and mods in really life. Beware the mod bug bites hard around here. Once you start you can't stop. There's lots of mods I wasn't to sure on doing to my car at first, but once I seen the mods in real life I was like yup I'm doing that :)

For the front bumper blackout just go to a sign writer shop and buy the vinyl from them. They usually have left over off cuts that are big enough to do the front. And will only cost like $10. There's heaps of how tos and DYI threads on here showing how to pull apart your car to do stuff. Just use the search bar at the top.

For the chrome surround u can buy them directly from Mitsubishi but ull be paying an arm and a leg for it. Try Gumtree and eBay. Quite a few of us have done it ourselves. You can get chrome wheel arch molding from super cheap auto for about $40. It comes in different sizes, IMO the bigger size is better. Think mines 10 or 15mm. That's also easy enough to do yourself. With that though over time it will fade and you will have to replace. Mines been on for about 3.5yrs now andneeds replacing.

This site if full of so much info and very knowledgeable people. If there's anything you need to know just use the search bar or ask someone in chat.
Enjoy :)

Excellent! Thanks so much :)
regardless of the distance, id love to come on one of the cruises! Killa!
Or as we all get abit more familiar, maybe a cruise down my wa y would be cool.. a huge line of lancers would stick out like a sore thumb here! Haha This is all so exciting, new car, meet new people.. so fun.

As for the mods, i wont lie.. i really dont know much about cars,
In saying that though.. whens theres an interest, theres a way :)
I had been looking at heaps of tutorials about the blackout grille,
And it all seems pretty straight forward. I dnt think im keen on the sticky chrome, would rather pay the money the better quality chrome trim as i got a feeling i wont be replacing
it anytime soon. I was concidering plasti dipping the front cos apparently it stays on better and wont strip you paint when you take it off either. Whats your thought on that? Go the vinyl?

Go the vinyl for the front, its way more durable. Erin and I had a good chat with a vinyl dude at the car show yesterday.
Plastidip is great and fun to use but can get chipped like paint. I've got a few cans of it at home I've been experimenting with. One day I'll be plastidipping my rims a different colour for something new.

I was like you when I first joined up here, young innocent female...had a passion for cars but knew hardly anything. This site is very female friendly. We actually have quite a few female members in SA.

I would go the vinyl on the front, the only slight issue with that is the liscence plate mounts, you can either cut the vinyl or relocate the plate, the vinyl comes off easy I took mine off the other week after one of our dogs decided that my car tastes nice either that I just ordered a replacement vinyl for mine from ebay (about $30 or so) and fitment is pretty good and it has good coverage as it is a complete black out, where as I have seen some vinyls that were cut too small and you have a slight outline around the tow hook cover and edge, where as this one covers all edges, either than that welcome, experiment with plasti dip it is awesome stuff my wheels have held up real good the only time I have had issues was when the tyre shop had to fix a puncture, it lifted slightly but you can hardly tell
Once again welcome to Ccj
