Hi guys,
im new. I am wanting to buy a auto lancer very soon but im on a budjet. i dont want to spend any more then $20,000. I like the look of the lancer sport and vrx, so im thinking of either a brand new sport or s/h vrx. I still need to test drive both to see if there is much difference on the road. What would you guys recommend is better value for money? the sport would be more reliable being brand new, longer warranty, looks almost identical. On the down side less power (but im not really expecting much compared to my last car v8 commodore), different sound system, wheels, interior. Help from ppl that have driven both would b good.
cheers

get a vrx, coz a few members have the es, and will they usually upgrade to vrx or something wth forced induction. I have the VRX and well I think its better coz one u got more power, and being a bit of a bigger engine u will find going up hills a breeze and to find power to overtake tht slow vehicle is just a simple gear down, which u wouldn't be able to do in the sport. another thing the vrx comes with flappy pedals, automatic stuff, and the full RF system
so imho get the vrx, u wont be disappointed

ive got the sport, and lets be honest its just an ES dressed up. kind of like mutton dressed as lamb? o.O
I was looking at the sport and the LX when i was buying my car, and I chose the sport because quite frankly i think it looks a bit better than the stock LX. But if i had the money I probably would of gone with a VRX.

Cheers everyone, looks like the majority is vrx. Just test drove a sport auto today wasn't bad. Pickup was average but ok I guess. Think I'd just end up holding the accelerator flat everyday. Interior, stereo and wheels aren't big enough to turn me to vrx, I'd change the wheels on the sport and possibly lower it. The only thing would b power, so there is a big difference in power? Might need to test drive one before I decide.
