Welcome to the club Nick!

You've made a great choice considering a lancer.

What trim level you going for? ES, VR, VRX, Ralliart...or even...EVO!?

Not sure yet....
Thinking Ralliart Or VRX

Ralliart = Turbo and AWD
VRX = Manual

Want to see if the new models coming out in july have a Ralliart in Manual.

The answer is no, Mitsu aren't releasing the manual version until 2011. That means either year 2011 or the 2011 model to come out late 2010. The RA has a manual mode.....faster gear changes than a standard manual....but we've started many fights amongst this forum about that topic, so I won't go on!!! RA = way to go

I think the despute is more between the CVT and the manual. Dual clutch SST transmission ftw.

If i had the choice between a turbo auto or a manual non turbo id deffs go turbo.

Id get kinda worried thrashing a turbo manual though, soon as the turbo kicks in your redline would come up pretty fast in the first 2 gears i would imagine.

Suppose it would be good for burnouts and launching.

Has anyone found the secret launch control for the RA yet? Or is it still a myth?

the manual would have a heavy duty clutch... so it wouldnt be as easy to damage

Launch control in the RA = myth
Not worth trying it the hard way either.

If you go turbo believe me a manual is sooooo much fun
I've driven a lot of Evos and GSRs and they are brilliant fun with a manual gearbox! Just my two cents worth 8)
