Just had to share the conversation I just had with my younger sister:
Her "It's weird how much they look like the Evo with the spoiler on them"
Me "That's because they're basically the same look with the Evo parts on them?"
Her "Oh did Lancers come from Evo's? I thought they were different like a Fiesta and a Focus"
Obviously doesn't get her smarts from me

Haha, I use to get "Is that an Evo?" With my VRX, now people think my Evo is just a Lancer, best one I have had tho, First day I had the car, some old fella in a petrol station in Bundaberg mumbled to me as he passed "Nice Mazda"... I whipped around looking for a Mazda until I realised he was talking to me haha.

Hahah ah, the joys of teaching! My mum was terrified when my sister got her learners last year, it took her a while to grasp the whole concept of the friction point but eventually she got it and now she's had her Ps for 6 months, just racing around on her own with her mini road-rage outbursts that she most likely obtained from me

Oh man really?! I'd probably get annoyed if someone did that to me I mean, maybe you're the type of person who just can't identify cars a second after looking at them but how can you mistake the diamonds for a Mazda badge, I don't evennn

I thought you'd be the last person to call your sister an idiot.
In fairness though, the Lancer's rear shares similarities with the Mazda3, particularly at night. Best compliment I got for mine was from an old man who asked, "Do you need a pilot's licence to drive that?" I also love the fact that I get more 'nice car' raves than a Ferrari driver.

Not true. The evo was developed, and then they cut back on features etc to create the Lancer. So really, the lancer comes from the evo
Also, I don't find your sis silly really. Many people don't even know the difference between evos and lancers. Its like, how many people can tell the difference between a Magna and a Verada....
ashleyoertel wrote:Okay how could anyone think that an Evo is a Subaru? Thats just wrong...
I've seen plenty of Subies that had the word 'Evolution' on it. Assume due to the body kit or whatever... so can't be blamed either to those who aren't into cars really.
