My quest for a Ralliart rear bumper/diffuser

Postby raidmaster212 » Tue Aug 20, 2013 3:18 pm

Why is it so damn hard to find a ralliart rear diffuser.

Heres the story,

For the last couple months on and off I've been looking to get a diffuser to simply fit over the rear end of my ralliart and for some reason seeing as though ralliart rears are unique from regular lancers and evo rears it just feels like nobody is making anything. Everytime I jump on to this forum I pray that when I hit that "Exterior" link, someone somewhere would have found something that I havent. But alas, it has not come to be.

I thought I found something when Rainbow Pen inboxed me back on facebook after a good couple of months saying they have ONE kind of ralliart bumper which was pretty shameful and moreso refused to paint it and also told me it would be cut in half for shipping which i wasnt pleased about.

Anywho, then I looked into Talon's rear diffuser with the dummy pipe http://www.talonbodystyling.com.au/body ... f_pop.html

I fell in love with this thing, called them up and found it was only for stock lancers. In an effort to try harder I asked if it could be modified to fit on my ralliart and he said we could meet up to try. so I drove about half hour met up but the bits and pieces were just too out of sync and it wouldnt work. the rear was different the space between the exhausts were different. the size of the exhaust was different. you get the point.

So he suggested to me, if i reeaaaallyy wanted this rear diffuser from talon that it would be best to fit a base lancer cj rear bumper to the ralliart and then put the diffuser on no problems. he said he knew a friend who could easily move the exhaust tips to align with the rear diffuser's cut outs and obviously i wouldnt need the dummy pipe.

SO after all this, I pose several questions to you oh lovely members of clubcj:

1) Does a base lancer cj rear bumper fit onto a ralliart rear end?
2) Does anybody know anyone selling a lancer cj es rear bumper (octane blue preferably)?
3) Is this whole mission worth it to get that beautiful look on the ass of my ralliart?
4) Have a missed something and is there really a ralliart rear diffuser out there?
5) Should I abandon my quest altogether ?
:(

I know I have no pictures of my ralliart on my profile so I'll post some here. Also if anyone knows whats the best way to paint my brake calipers. I'd highly appreciate some advice. Tested some of those fake brembo caliper covers but they were a fail.

WOW you have the scorpion front lip haha, so rare to see
Anyway the only diffusers for ralliart rear bumpers are:
1. if you custom fit an evo 9 rear diffuser

2. You buy a pu plastic one made by rainbow pen, replica of the evo 9 but made to fit specifically the ralliart rear bumper. The quality of rainbow pen items is also very questionable.

Also, if you just lower the car, it will make the rear end look much sexier ;) haha

Had a good read through your thread Belle, its funny because "Yeah Im coming up to Sydney in a couple days I'll bring the rear diffuser to see if it fits" turned to "The part hasnt been made yet theyre going to send it up to me on the weekend" which progressed to "They sent me the wrong part sorry bud we cant meet" all over the span of 4 weeks? SO You get the picture.

In all honesty I never wanted to touch the exhaust. As much as possible Im trying to maintain the car mechanics/exhaust-wise and just add things on to it.

Thanks for the pics of those other rear diffusers I've come across them before its just that the look I was going for were larger fins like on the talon rear diffuser or an actual evo rear bumper (which will fit on a lancer es but not on a ralliart)

Why are ralliarts so unloved :(

I said to the guy from talon (Alan) that I'd be in touch even though I'm dreading the whole thing now. Rainbow Pen just seem so stupidly unprofessional.

I NEED MORE OPTIONS

P.s. Does my car look good

^ Dude thats some false information. Any bumper that will fit the standard lancer will fit the ralliart and vice versa. They have the exact same bodies, just different bumper designs. Putting an aftermarket bumper designed for an es on your ralliart will be a straight swap. The only issue is the exhaust tips lining up correctly.
An actual evo rear bumper will not fit on an es or ralliart. You can get replica evo bumpers which are smaller for the es and ralliart which will fit both no problem, except again for the exhausts.

For example, im pretty sure that this will fit your car even though it says its for the 'es'. Probably because its mostly people with es' upgrading their bumpers, not ralliart owners.

If youre not sure just contact bodykitskingdom, Im 99% sure theyll tell you it will fit, except maybe the exhaust tips

Try mars performance. Or ring concord customs, tell them you want one like annabelle's (they know me) and ask for the part number for the one at mars performance

I reckon the RA rear bumper looks mighty fine as it is.
But if you end up changing your bumpers, it shouldn't be hard to sell your RA rear bumper. :)

yeah Mark I agree I just had that fear that it would devalue the car hence my search for a diffuser rather than an entire bumper.

anabelle which do you have exactly? tried looking on your profile but couldnt really tell.

kevin the one you posted does look real good does it fit straight over the current rear end of a ralliart or is it an entire bumper bought and meant to fit a ralliart. by digging through that VISracing sight i came across this http://www.visracing.com/newcatalog/Mit ... umper.html

is that what he used?

and can anyone comment on the quality of products from carmate as well as visracing ?? carmates prices seem ok but ive heard people had issues with quality?

The ones i posted are entire replacement bumpers. You will not find ones that fit straight over the top for the ralliart bumper, like there are the the standard lancer bumpers.
