Yes, very interesting to see if it will make it to Australia.

BTW it uses the 103kw Volkswagen 2.0 TDI (as seen in Golf, Jetta etc) for it's engine. Great engine. pulls fricken hard.

Having just moved from the UK, this will go down a treat, 80% of all company cars in the UK are diesel! I used to have the VW Golf TDi and while the 0-60mph time doesn't look great (although prety much the same as the 2.0 MIVEC) the mid range torque and overtaking ability will be superb.

My parents have a 2.0 TDI Jetta. it weighs 1540kg. My CJ weighs 1355. Body sizes are pretty much exactly the same.

The Jetta would go close to blowing the doors off the Lancer i reckon. the torque is incredible.

i think it's in MPH, which is 100km/h, 9.7 is alright, faster then a ES lancer, a ES lancer should do around 10sec

wondering if Australia will actually import a TDI lancer...

How quick do you think you would get to 60MPH in then? I would say the manufacturers claim is pretty acurate to true 60mph (remember car spedo's are calibrated to make the driver think you are going faster than you actually are for safety reasons)

Maybe in australia. I have never heard anything like that before in my life though... I dunno to be honest i wouldn't say its ALOT faster then 10seconds but definitely less. *shrug* Mid 8's?
