The main difference is the VR is 2 litre and the VRX is a 2.4 litre with slightly bigger brakes. There will be differences in body kit and rims too eg The VRX has same rims and rear spoiler as the RA.

Someone with a VRX or VR should be able to provide you with more detail.

If your looking at buying new visit your local dealer and pick up some brochures, I think you can download from Mitsubishi website too.

Hope that helps!

Jade is partially correct , vrx - the late 07 to early 09 was a 2 liter after that the lancer vrx was a 2.4 this is what the vrx has which the VR does not ...

Front air dams - flappy bits at the bottom if the front bumper bar
Leather trim steering wheel and handbrake leaver
CF look alike interior trim
Seats that are more bolstered to hold u in... They are a great bucket seat
Larger vrx ralliart rear spolier - both sedan and hatch
Ralliart vrx 18 inch rims
Front and rear sway bars not all vrs had these
Front strut bar
Chrome accessent air vents
Some vrx have MMCS - multimedia system
Vrx well 99% of them have the premium rockford fostgate sound system
Not all VR have map lights or auto lights or auto windscreen wipers all vrx with exception of the early 07 model have this as standard
Better suspension set up - sport suspension (so they say)
Larger brakes

These are all extras on a vrx which you do not find on a VR unless someone has modified it

Hope that helps and good luck .... Trust me buy the vrx I have 3 of them
1998 MR lancer
2009 CJ lancer sportback
2011 Renault Sport RS250 Trophee Cup
2000 Tommi Makenin Evolution 6.5

What's your budget if you don't mind me asking?

If I were you, I'd go for a VRX. Because the VRX has a more powerful engine and it has all the extra gadgets and exterior parts. Infact, I sold my VR just today because I want a VRX. But it also comes down to your budget.

I don't think they're making VRs anymore. You might as well get a VRX.

Hmm. I had a quick look on the market. It would be hard to find a decent vrx for 12k. Why dont u save a bit?:)

I'll stack my VR against any stock VRX, cost 10.5, plus various mods done over 18 months

To be honest, with the 9 as the weekender I would personally go the VR, as it uses a touch less fuel = cheaper to run = more money for the ix

Other than the engine you're not really getting much more with the VRX that wouldn't costa few $ at a wreckers (eg front pods etc)

:D
- Self tuned - work in progress - tune revision #16_03

- Lowered on Kings
