headlight levelling switch on car that didn't come with it

Postby el3ment » Fri May 17, 2013 9:41 pm

Hey guys

Im thinking of putting projector headlights on the Activ and Ralliart. I was wondering if anyone has managed to install the headlight levelling switch into a lancer yet, that didn't originally come with one.

I've been contemplating getting these http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/160969452786 ... 1423.l2649 as they come with the adjustment motors and the switch already. It says that older cars may have those extra pins on the connectors, but my MY09 RA doesn't have them :(

So I am not quite sure how to wire them up to the switch... anyone got any ideas?

Your welcome to have a look in my car at a meet or something to see if you can work out where the wires go to/from

I don't have projectors, but I have all the wires that are required from the factory that are shown in the link you posted plus the wires in the dash for the switch

i thought the extra pins were for auto leveling. The way I understood it was that our cars without the extra pins would still get leveling, might only controlled manually by the switch.

The extra wires supply power to the leveling motors which are connected to the auto leveling controls or the switch

yeah, my understanding is that those extra pins is for power and the stepping signal for them to move. I just don't know if there is more to it.. ie can't see how it goes from the rotating switch to the headlight... I suppose a wiring diagram would be awesome, but can't find anything :(
