replacing steering wheel

Postby n3os » Fri May 10, 2013 10:30 am

A Lancer Im looking at purchasing has one of these steering wheels which I have never seen in any other Lancer I've looked at

Was this steering wheel the factory standard in the base model? And if I remove it will it be plug and play with one of these

Its the same steering wheel.
The second link just as the additional stereo and cruise control buttons which can be added.
Not sure why it does not have cruise buttons as the all come standard

If you look closely in that first pic you can see the cruise buttons on the bottom right of the airbag/horn part.

Here's a closeup

Have you actually seen the car in person or just photos of it? i have never seen a cj with that steering wheel in it. They all come with the steering wheel witht he silver trim on it and the the base model ES has the just the cruise control on the right hand side in the silver part.

What is that other button on the far right on the dash? Does it say 'CRUISE'? Must be an aftermarket system then.
The middle one also looks different to my ASC button but I assume thats what it is...

If it isn't an import I'd think its some kind of fleet vehicle. Kinda sus, would steer away from it regardless of condition.

To be honest i reckon you could bet a bit better car, newer year or even a higher up model for that price.
As for the steering wheel its weird that its differnt and if they changed it why?

Thanks guys! Yeah something doesn't seem right.

Another question, is the tacho supposed to be on the left or right of the speedo?

Older model lancers have the tacho on the right. Newer model lancers have them swapped.
