75,000 K Service - VR

Postby Kate » Sat Apr 20, 2013 12:14 am

Hey There,

Have tried the search and had a browse through this section (Learnt a bit, so that was good) but had a question about the 75,000 K service....

In the service log book, it shows the timing belt being done in this service, I always thought it was a 90,000 - 100k thing..

But anyway, can someone give me a bit of an estimate of what they paid for their 75,000 service... Wasn't expecting such a big service so early in the purchase... Lol

Cheers :-)

when i bought my 2010 activ i asked the sales/service manager and they gave a approx 700ish for the 75000 service BUT i do understand that each mitsubishi dealership/log book servicer differs in price so i reckon just ring around for the best price in ur area unless u got a premium warranty deal and have to go thru the dealership u bought it from

It is weird, because the service manual says to do the timing belt on the 75,000 K service... But everywhere I have called for a quote has quoted under $300? So obviously the timing belt is not included in this price...

Would it be possible that they quote their thoughts (even if they are referring to their service software they have) and then when they look at the Service manual they will come back and say, sorry you have to do the timing belt as well?

Hey check out this thread as a service guide.
http://clubcj.net/viewtopic.php?t=8196

I only paid $220ish for my 75,000km service. Price around as diff mitsi will have diff prices. I have found some dealers to be like $100 more.
Also pretty sure our lancers have a timing chain, not a belt and that doesn't get looked at till 90,000kms.
Also supply all you own parts, fluids. I just did this on my last service. I had a k&n air filter and my own oil. So they knocked $100 of the price of the service for me-oil only cost me $45 and I picked up my filter for a bargain $40.

Yeah I thought it was a chain driven motor (i.e no belts) and lasts pretty much 150k+?
