Protecting Silver trim in Lancer from Scratches

Postby Kate » Sat May 04, 2013 12:17 pm

Hey Guys,

I have noticed how easily the silver trim on the interior scratches... has anyone found a protectant or something to try and prevent or reduce this?

I tried searching, but didn't have much luck... Thanks :-)

A bucketload of clear nail polish - not because Kate's a girl and might have a shedload of it... 'tis shiney though.

Clear coat hard lacquer from hardware store could do, but use a fine brush to apply to avoid brush strokes.

Ventilate well :)

Seems like a smart idea... Has anyone actually done this? Or are these just suggestions?

Mines a suggestion. I've learnt to tolerate the scratches on some of my silver parts (not a CJ but can empathise) just as much as tolerating the dust fibres that seem gather all too quickly on the dash. Other silver parts I've simply plastidipped black, mind you, a complete fail at protecting the surface from scratches.
