a weird comparison but i dont think my interior trim would come into contact with as many things as your fingernails would

I agree. Definitely vinyl. Doesn't chip and lasts longer. Reversible as well so you can take it back off if you want to go back to stock.

Vinyl all the way.
the flat pieces are easier to do yourself, however when it gets to parts that are not flat and 3D in shape eg-arm rest with the handle, they are tricky to do but the effect is great

I painted mine to match the colour of the car, one thing you can't do to well with vinyl

Clear wont prevent any chipping as its the paint coming away from the original surface....if that comes away...the clear comes with it.

What color are you thinking for the trim? Might be able to help out on the vinyl work..I presume your taking the trim off to do either?

vinyl wrap no doubt, that way if you are not happy with the outcome, you just peel it off and start again.

i was thinking of wrapping my whole centre console, that why i suggest paint as it might be easier. i wanna do my steering wheel aswell.

Vinyl wrapping can get pretty expensive and im not so keen on DIY

Ive got some new vinyls that may do the job. Could you send me some pics of the dash parts with arrows so i know what bits they are...actually...i'll send you a PM bud.
