Way too much!

What are they doing for that?

Mine's getting a 60k service on Monday. I've done the oil and filter change myself. There is no major service for the 60k sufficiently different from the 45k.

Full synthetic Castrol Sport EDGE can be had for around $50 these days and the mitsu oil filter and sump washer ring maybe $10. Hence I do that myself. not paying a dealer mega bucks for an apprentice on minimum wage to do the oil change.

For 45k - again I did the oil and filter change. Cost me $121 for the checks and sign the log book for the 45k. We'll see what the 60k costs.

I get mine done at Suttons Arncliffe...

I'm not fixed servicing, but the 60,000 service would've cost $291 they told me this morning.
I'm about to go and find out how much it costs me once they've deducted their scheduled charge for doing the oil change, parts labour since I've done that bit.

I've just come back and had a less than pleasant experience with them.

My 15, 30 and 45k services the labour costs came in around $110-120 ex gst.
This time around for the 60k - the labour cost was $145 ex gst - fair enough, I'll put that down to inflation and prices go up with time.

But for the 60k they've tacked on all these extras
"system treatments - inhibitors" (27.50) - my coolant is always topped up and I have a spare part used 5L bottle sitting around - so can't be coolant.
"workshop supplies" (15.50) - never had that before - but, okay so they're using some workshop supplies.
"environmental levy" (7.50) - never seen that before - I don't give them my oil to dispose of.

So all up with GST I got hit with $215 instead of $121 incl GST last time.
So there's $90 in "mystery" charges... on top of what I'm accustomed too... nice little earner. But I think they've lost my business.

I'm just waiting back on word for extending the warranty from 3 to 5 years. They're pushing back, and being difficult about it. As "they've not done the oil changes and even though I might do a better job that them, mitsubishi doesn't care"

...dont get me started about their attitude about investigating fault codes. Even if you provide them the codes, if it's not there currently to see on the MUT diagnostic tool, they dont care, because "Mitsu wont reimburse for their time" - what a crappy attitude towards customer care.

Once i get an answer from Suttons on the warranty, I'll be sheeting some complaint calls and emails to various parties.

It's the inconsistency in their decisions. At the 45k they pushed back on signing off and stamping the book because I changed my own oil. In the end they did. However at the 15, 30 and now 60k, not issue with it all.

I was peeved with them at the 45k for being difficult stamping the book, now all this randomness has annoyed to the point I'll probably go to another dealership for the next service. Has me questioning if I'll even bother with the Mitsu brand in future.

Exactly Pete, The funny thing ......heard so many times that Mitsu service etc forget or dont change the oil (And charge you fot it) and yet when YOU change the oil YOURSELF they have a problem stamping the log book.
I have a deal with my local Bridgestone dealer that they change the supplied (Mine) oil and filter, top up all the fluids and check it over for $50. Maybe look in to something like that Pete? I have a warranty job being done by my Ralliart dealer shortly but otherwise I think i will supply and let Bridgestone fit/change. Also noticed they only have 1 apprentice to about 5 mechanics at my Bridgestone as well.
I find it so strange and annoying that Mitsubishi have no consistency in there servicing. As you said maybe Michael should explain the supplying his own oil etc again...ive never had that happen? Dont know why they have secretary's working around a service centre anyway. Crap...i may get flack from that comment lmao.

i'll chim in here

I have capped price servicing so can comment on prices etc. Also it could be a double standards for people on fixed price and people who are not

However Pennant Hills Mitsubishi have been pretty good to deal with so far, had a few services with them and they seem to be on the ball. I even asked them to do/install small things and they have been pretty good.(leds, gas lifter for bonnet etc)

They did forgot twice! to stamp my book when i went back and let let know for another servie, the guy remember my car and quickly checked on the computer and signed the missed ones without a fuss.

Supplied my own oil once (royal purple) for my first service. No fuss or wank about using their oil. They automatically in the break down removed the cost of the oil charge-without me bringing up the subject of doing.

So, so far so good- however this can quickly change from my experience all comes down to the management of the businesses. If you get bad service 99% its beacuse the management are muppets.
