Just starting a quick thread to gauge interest from NSW and ACT members who are planning on going to the National meet in SA on April 19-22 (it's now only 4 weeks away!!!) See http://clubcj.net/viewtopic.php?t=13163
I'm thinking the NSW people could cruise down to the ACT or just outside of ACT (perhaps Yass) and collect any ACT peoples. NSW/ACt people will have to budget for travel time as it's a 15 hr trip, and best be split over two days taking to account rest stops every 2 hrs to manage fatigue.
From there we can either;
i) meet up in Melbourne and collect the VIC members and head to Mt Gambier via the most direct route (perhaps Ballarat)
ii) meet up in Melbourne and collect the VIC members and head to Mt Gambier via the Great Ocean Road
iii) travel from Yass and perhaps inland thru VIC (Bendigo) and then onto Mt Gambier
We can always meet up with the Melbourne people on their home turf on the return trip back home or not at all..
So return trip we can either
i) return home via GOR to Melbourne then NSW
ii) return home via Melbourne (via Ballarat) then head to NSW
iii) leave Mt Gambier again inland via Bendigo then NSW.
If you have other ideas on routes etc, please list them.
We'll poll it a bit later once we have some input from possible attendees.

If anyone wants to use the most straight route, the best way is Hume Hwy into Vic, goto Seymour (roughly halfway point to Melb) onto Bendigo, Avoca, Arart, Hamilton, Mt Gambier
This route is used by B-Doubles that have to use Mt Gambier/Adelaide
Google maps says it 12.47 hrs or 1200 kays
On the way back it would be flash to go through GOR!!!

I was going to do it and head off Wednesday morning, however decided against it, as I could see one particular individual inviting conflict so I'd rather not ruin it for the members attending or ruin my trip.
....but this was my rough road plan... around 3200kms over 10 days to then meet up with the ACT folk for the ACT/NSW cruise next weekend.
