lol i only tried this on Saturday night. Yes you can. The middle button that sort of looks like a menu page allows you to change the screen mode.

You just keep pressing it and it will change to a screen where you can choose different categories.

Mine does that too. Yes there is the is a notepad shape on the screen. Make sure you press properly as if you don't other buttons will show up over top of it then you will have to press exit on top left. So note pad once you will get list of song press again you will get playlist.

Damn, I've been traveling the past 3 months (still OS now) and just caught this GB thread, anyone interested in doing another GB in NSW? Sorry I'm trying to catch up on the thread, but it's too long so I thought I'd pop the question again. I'll be back in oz mid-march.

Also anyone know what the operating system/spec of this is or whether it's user hackable/upgradeable?

The operating system is a windows CE 6.0, is hackible eg: miopocket etc, and is update able I just posted a update on the other topic. And as Ryan said. A member is selling his so get in quick as its been up for the past 2 months
