You do lose a few $1000 BEFORE you drive it off the lot. As soon as it is rego'd in your name that is all it takes.

I'd say around the 22k mark should be OK.....but people are sitting on their money at the moment instead of buying cars, so you might have to take a hit on that ammount (1-2k) What did you want to upgrade to??? If you want an $80k car, the dealer will almost give you that 20-22k for it.

I'm going to say about A$23K is the best you can hope for from a private individual buy. If you go to a car dealer to trade in, I'd say A$21.5K

Would the fact that more recent VRX have a bigger engine have done much to harm the value of pre MY09 VRXs with 2 litre engine?

Probably doesnt make that much difference. We don't buy cars for them to increase in value now, do we.....

now that's right, it'd be the most stupidest, dumbest, crappiest investment anyone can make. classic and exotic cars though, are slightly different....in fact some rise in value....

If you're trading it in - haggle for 22.5, highlight the mods you HAVE done. but yeah, thats pushing it.
