Haha love the anger about the transmission, have you actually given it a go? It's not as bad as you may think. Besides with the way things are going, manual is becoming more archaic.

You are always more than welcome to drop a few grand and do a manual conversion :P

Fun fact: Nissan R35's are ALL automatic. Does that diminish your opinion of them any less? :P

Back on topic: Welcome Seb.

I have another question, does the non turbo 2 litre engine have the same engine mounts as the RA and EVO engines ?

I'm sure the engine mounts are all the same in all of the cj range 2.4lt or 2.0lt. Be bout the same. The different in engine is all internally

Hi Seb, welcome to clubcj.net! :)

I think its a very bad idea for someone with minimal cash to do this, especially if you don't own and drive the car at present and if you have very little experience with modifying cars and not mechanically competent. I'm guessing this will be your daily drive, which needs to be reliable and troublefree, as I cannot fathom "project car" being hand in hand with "minimal cash" :S

However as mentioned before, turbo upgrades are possible and those members who attempted successfully are freaky legends (and probably plentifully cashed) :D

Thanks again for the extra information and feedback.

I will look into more of the builds and ask around to what people have done.

Yeah just buy the RA, it's built and is AWD. Quick shifting so automatic on the RA and EVO's have good automatic transmissions.
