that sucks big time erin. i would be so pissed too!
i have had this happen to me with my rear bumper, one day while out shopping, walked back to my car and noticed straight away the little circle tow hook thing was popped out. lucky there wasnt much damage and my bumper already had scratches on it from a previous hit(i knew who had done that one) and yeah no note or anything.
im contemplating getting a tow bar put on my car purely for protection. if someone hits me from behind its gona do more damage to them then me a mate also told me there r cameras u can get, that u can stick somewhere on the rear of ur car that record everything. im guessing they would be the same as the crash cameras u can get which sit in the front window of the car.
im a big believer in karma when it comes to cars! so hopefully whoever did this to u gets what they deserve.

I second this statement; one of the neighbours tried to get away from hitting my brother's RX-8 in between the doors once but luckily there were witnesses and they were forced to stick around. If no one was there they'd definitely just run off, and it'd definitely have been the case because they have no insurance as we got told.

Reasons why culprits run away from cars they hit:
1. Fear of other party's reaction and various consequences
2. Cannot pay for damage/no insurance
If in the case of no insurance, some are happy for the ones at fault to pay the excess and the victim will have the car repaired by themselves.

Another idea if you cannot see clearly of the car's rego
Download the iRego app on appstore and try to key in what you think the rego was.
It will come up with the model of the car and the year of the car as well.
There is a limit on how many times you can search a month, but I am sure you are not the only person in the group who got an iphone right?

Good investigating work.
I hope he loses his license, if he has one.
We don't need a*****es that that on the road.
At least now your car will get fixed without any expense to you.
