Lancer chassis? 2008-2012

Postby beast666 » Mon Nov 26, 2012 1:57 pm

i have a 2010 sx lancer and am unsure if i can find help here.
After a mistake that took seconds but felt forever lol i rolled my car the engine and most of the car is intact (sort of) but the roof is from what im told beyond repair. So i have been looking for a chassis to rebuild, the engine has done only 30 000 kms and i dont want to spend 13 k and above to buy a whole new car just need a gutted cheap one
so in short Im looking for a chassis anywhere from 2008 onwards and am hoping someone can help me out.[/b][/b]I live in kalgoorlie but will travel or transport from perth or further just want my car back.

P.s im sorry if there is already a thread for something like this just signed up today[/b]

lol people kept having a go at me for keeping it its my motivation to get a new one.
driverside airbag deployed (not steering wheel, centre column )
almost every panel scratched or dented
no windscreen
inside car okay
engine still runs although wishbone on passenger side bent
can put pics up after work
back windscreen mine want it on new car haha (bloke who made sticker for me said never again lol)
not too sure on how much id wreck really comes down to what i find to start rebuild effort

Theres no good solution. You're going to be out a lot of money, and if you fix it up then what about the poor unknowing person you sell it to one day?

There are wreckers on ebay parting out entire CJs lately. Near-new engines go for less than $2000. You're not going to be able to get a large amount of money parting it out.

k you guys seem to know a fair bit was contemplating a roll cage that way any structural issues were covered. (was a slow roll so what made it a write off was the driver side central beam bent in thus affecting i guess structural integrity for lack of a better word) i know every states different but could i get away with fixing roof and putting in roll cage? if so has anyone seen it done? dads a boilermaker used to work on cars so i think visually it would look stock but roll cage inside is that an option?

In short no.

Roll cages are great for off road and track but not an option for street use.

We have not had a toll cage fitted in this club before.

When they say it is a ride off it is not because it can't be fixed. It is because the repair costs are higher then the value of the car minus the wreck value.
