A couple of questions on this.
My RA has been dyno tuned with all mods completed prior ie: filter, exhaust,BOV etc...
How do i save the tune so that when i have it serviced i can change it back to standard and incase Mitsu loose or change my tune to factory, and what do i need to do this ie software ,leads etc...
Will a Merlin tune give me much improvements in power etc... considering it has allready been tuned.
All the DEF file...this file...that file...logging gets all gobbly gook and i only really have interest in the end result

Which software did your tuner use? Are you still running the stock ECU?

You need to have/access to a tactrix cable, laptop and the free ecuflash program. You/merlin would then read/copy your current tune to you laptop and save it somewhere.
Merlin would do his thing and copy the new tune onto your car.
You can also find the stock tune's on the net
Then at any time you could plug the laptop back in and swap tunes, even swap back to the factory tune.
Will merlin's tune be better than your dyno tune??? i dont know who tuned yours so only guessing but id say peak power might not change all that much but drivavbility and low end performance would probably be better with a road tune by merlin vs dyno tune. Most shops have the basic AFR/Boost timing etc down but some of the more unique things around the lancers/ra/evos such as mivec tuning and even sst tweaks are overlooked.
Refer to Sleepers improvements around spool up vs a "shop tune"
Merlin should have the gear/cables and be able to provide with 2 files at the end of the day, old tune and new tune. Should also be able to give you a nice virtual dyno graph of before and after so you can see where your making the gains
Theres a couple of people in brisbane now with the right cable/software should you need to swap tunes around/revert to stock for a few days.

If i just use a boost pill and tune, they should not know im flashing between stock and tuned maps? Cause theres no mods that can be seen?
I've done what you are talking about heaps of times, and i still claim warranty stuff. They can't tell apparently.
