Will servicing my car late void my warranty?

Postby Zackyd » Tue Nov 06, 2012 5:15 pm

Hi Guys and Girls,

I was meant to get my car serviced by 14/04/2013 or 60000KM
Due to other financial commitments I wasn't able to get it service at the 60000KM mark and it's now at 61020KM - I can now service it at the dealer but have I just voided my 5 year/10 year powertrain warranty? :/

FYI: All my past services have been dealer done

Thanks all..

They generally allow a 2000 - 3000km leeway (give or take) as told to me by my dealer when I brought mymy car (2nd hand) and got the 15,000 done at 17,900 (had to drive it back from Sydney then get it registered), so you should be fine

You should be fine it's only 1,000kms late. Asked about this at the dealership when I bought the Evo and I been told its ok as long as it's not ridiculously late or missed a service.

Thanks bunnishiwa, Is this dealer specific or do you know if it's a Mitsubishi condition? I emailed Mitsubishi a few days ago and have no reply yet.

I did my 60k service at 58k and my 75k service at 77k. Essentially i did 19,000 on one oil change . Mitsubishi don't seem to be too concerned, I do a lot of runs between Sydney and the Gold Coast. And about to do another run up there shortly which will be the 5th time this year. So I'm not too concerned.

The only issue I can think of is that they may not provide you with the roadside assistance, which requires you to have the service at the specified intervals.

So that flyer was for capped priced servicing?
Now I'm back to being concerned as my car was bought in 2009 before capped pricing was introduced.

Not too concerned about roadside assistance as NRMA have me covered.
Just don't want to shell out for a new CVT transmission which apparently cost $5000 if it fails due to mechanical fault.

With the CVT I serviced it early. The book sais 90k if I'm not mistaken but i did mine at 60k, so at least the 90k service will be a bit cheaper now

Yeah you're fine, as long as your km are closer to the due service than the next one basically ;)
