Again I'd just like to make sure both yourself and the dealer know I'm not having a go. It is a fantastic product it is just let down by the finish, the service he has shown is really quite outstanding which is something you don't often get in this day and age. As has the effort you've put in been. Also delivery time was outstanding, very impressed.

If he knows of a method of sanding it back, whether that be by sandblasting it and if it will damage it at all I'd be interested to know too. Though im sure it wont be too hard for me to find out on my own, always good to get a few opinions.

I think the common misconception is that I feel people are having a go at me but no, it's not that.

a) it's not my product. I merely arranged it. Furthermore, I didn't suggest the source, leevin did. He too is not the supplier. He merely asked some people where they got theirs from and followed the crowd. I merely sound irritated at times as people want so much from me that I wish people had more patience.

b) If the product is not up to scratch the question we have to ask ourselves is would we buy again from the supplier. Considering now he's offered his eyelids product to us. If we like them, we have to consider the product differently as it's NOT the same finish. These lips were not finished. Actually most people in the US And Canada who get them re work them following reception. This makes us MORE appreciative to products like those provided by Shadows where EVERYTHING has a top quality sheen and finish.

c) So far all our dealers have been pretty good with us. I hope this continues into our other buys like the Sharkfin antenna (< A$100.00 delivered) and the Ralliart Tailights (for < A$600.00 delivered).

Hopefully, you sort out the lip soon for everyone to admire.

ive decided to paint it matte black which i will do.. when i have time so prob next friday?
the 3M tape or tape thats on the front lip.. isnt really requiredto install it on right? unless you want to have the lip in front of the grille. not under it?

I think it's meant to sit on top of the bottom part of the front grille.

Would it actually fit if it was underneath (the underneath bit actually goes a fair way back and is curved so may not even be able to be attached?).

Let us know how you go with fitment, I didn't put it up against the car as I was rushed for time.

the lip doesnt look to flash if it sits on the bottom part of the grille.
im guessing it should fit cos we've seen pictures of the lip installed under it and not on top.
thanks for the fast reply =D

Yes from that pic it looks like it sits on top.
If you look at the top edge line of the air dam horns compared to top of lip in the pic of the red car daveee posted and you are out next to car with the lip you should see exactly how to mount it.

My Q above re mounting screws has still not been answered. Any thoughts everyone???

They are pretty bulky in the head? or if it's underneath, no dramas, in fact I might use a couple myself Ozie! The big head can double as a washer!

From that pic, you can see that Franchise has screwed in the center portion of the lip 4 screws.

The dealer suggests screwing in from the bottom and using the 3M tape to merely secure the middle part .

Choice is yours. Franchise5star REALLY needs to give us some pics.

nutsert (nut insert) goes on sort of like a rivet but has a threaded hole so you can screw in a screw. sort of looks like a .22 bullet shell (depending on the size of the screw) pretty much squashes its self with the "rivet gun" between the surface that you intend to hold together with a screw, i doubt that would have them at bunnings but i may be wrong

Hey guys, after my lip was stuck in customs for some 7 days, it has finally been delivered to my house.

Firstly i would like to thank ofey and whoever else was involved in the group buy. Its a pretty big task to undertake and of course you are not gaining anything personal from it.

Anyway since it was my day off, i tried stacking the lip atop some bricks to see how it would roughy look and look at the fitment etc.

To start off with, mine has the same plastic weld mark as speedie's.

Image

The main bother about what has happened with the weld is not only the finish, but they have seemed to welded mine at least a bit crooked making the lip not fit onto my bottom bumper properly. I have some pics to show what i mean. On the right, the fitment is good, the left it bows in, not following the contours of the bumper.

With quite a bit of pressure, i managed to pull it out and wedge it underneath a pot i had and the left wheel well. Here are some rough pictures of how it looks like on the car.

Dunno if its really visible in the pics, but the finish is very average as stated before. Obvious scratches or sanding marks present on the lip. Guess i'll be painting mine as well.

Hope this answers most of everyone's questions. Sorry if the image quality isn't the best, digital camera was out of batteries and took all photos with my iphone

Regards

David
