I suggest you all wait til you get them and see for yourself and when you get together for your meet before you all start judging based on comments from those who havent seen them.
I always try to give an accurate description of something to help people who cannot see what I am talking about even sometimes with a pic as broad sweeping statements like,"it is crappy, all scratched" etc give no useful info to anyone.
I have seen non helpful comments on many forums.
I think it was very sturdy in its construction, and fit well on the car when I put it in place to check.
Apart from the crack issue which I am now believing was caused in shipping as per my earlier post, the only prob was fine scratches in the surface that could be seen when the light hits it at the angles to see the satin finish, which was most angles.
I would have expected something brand new to be basically spotless. It is hard surfaced so had obviously not been handled too carefully.
I would have had to sand them lightly and put a coat or 3 of Plasti Dip on it to get it looking spotless.

Re: MOUNTING SCREW QUESTIONS

Am blacking out my front bumper and grille with Plasti Dip as we speak and it would have been nice to get it fitted today too.
MOUNTING SCREW QUESTIONS
I bought some 8G x 25mm button headed self tapping screws to mount this mainly due to the very flat heads as I am planning on putting 2-3 screws in the top lip where it sits on the rim at bottom of the intake grill area as well as the 2 on the bottom into the horns.
I didnrt want to use any messy silicone glues etc.
The centre lip is very light just over a kg so no weight issues but it will have to be secure and able to take a knock in case you nudge a parking kerb or hit something on the road.
MY Q is, how well will these screws ,or any for that matter, work in the thin plastic the horns/bumper is made of as there is no thickness of material or nut plates of course to take the thread???
The horns are very thin.
The hole will only be approx 3mm diameter for this size screw. I could get a bigger 10G for the bottom where the heads cannot be seen.
Any ideas??? Has anybody done this kinda mod before???
if your real keen you could use nutserts that might give you abit more peace of mind
Okay, I don't mean this post to come off as rude or whatever. Quite hard to convey tone and so on through the internet. It's simply my view of the product and not a criticism of anyone.
To start off with..my old man picked this up. He called me when he had picked it up and asked me if it was second hand or brand new. I said brand new. He asked me if I was sure.
Gives you a bit of perspective from an outsiders view on the product.
Lots of little scratches and imperfections on the thing. Almost like some of the edges have been routed/cut around for some reason. I would have thought it would have come out of a regular plastic mould and everything have the same finish on it.
The scratches aren't deep, or visible from a distance but they aren't the sort of thing you'd expect on something that is brand new. Not saying it is second hand or anything, I guess they just don't have great quality control.
Can't take photos of it to show you as I left it at my parents place. Will be getting it off them this weekend so will post up photos next week.
Overall the quality is good, but not great. It's flexible but also sturdy which are great (if it was something like fibreglass I'd be worried about putting it on as fibreglass is rubbish). The only thing stopping it from being a great product is simply the finish of the material - whether it's simply due to poor handling when it was manufactured, or the fact that it has been sitting around in a warehouse for the last 6 months being knocked around.
It will look great on the car once I get it on there. It's just not going to be able to put on there straight away due to needing a bit of prep and painting done to it. Even then I'm not sure that will be possible due to the material (has a low sheen finish to it, but where the edges have been cut back it has a rubbery material underneath that may not be able to be painted).
