I don't want to go with Youi our AAMI as I have heard bad things about them when you want to make a claim.
Who do you insure with and what does it cost you?

never had a drama AAMI but never crashed. my Brother is with AAMI aswell, and he crashed his car and AAMI were great, he had aftermarket rims on the car, but they wernt on the policy, but they still covered the wheels, and the wheels he had on the car you couldnt get so AAMI sent him a cheque to buy some new wheels

NRMA wanted over a grand. Im nearly 40 with never a at fault claim, got no idea why the insurance is so expensive.

Under 25 male, rating 3, south-western Sydney suburb
I'm with Justcar and the premium was about $1650/yr with $1000 excess + $400 age excess. It's the cheapest for me, but I would like to join either the NRMA or AAMI once I reach 25.
The suburb and age combination is what really stuffs my premium up. If I was either older or living in say the Northern Beaches, my premium is about $1000 less.

I pay NRMA around $1400 with 65% NCB, over 25, inner city, parked in a underground car park with swipe access. VRX is insured around $28k
I know NRMA tend to be thought of expensive, but I've heard a few horror stories with AAMI - I guess the adage of "you get what you pay for" is true.
I've heard that AAMI may not use OEM parts to effect a repair, but anything as long as it's cheaper than OEM. might be bulldust, who knows.

Yeah you could be right,AAMI said to me with mods, they will insure them providing there legal, well i dont have legal tints and the wheels i have are 7 inch width, whereas i think the OEM wheels are 6.5 inch wide,i could be in trouble there
I shopped around and the quotes ranged from $550 to $980, all with $500 excess. Will be parked in a driveway but no garage.
At the Mitsu dealer they ran a quote with Suncorp and it is only $390, I nearly fell off the chair!! I got a direct quote with Suncorp which was just shy of $750 for the same policy.
Apparantly the dealer gets preferred rates and volume discount...
34 female with clean record btw.

The local NRMA manager up here used to work in the claims office in Sydney. She has told me that as long as the RTA deems it legal they will pay. That being said if your mods are borderline illegal and not dangerous like slightly wider wheels or dark tint then in most cases the NRMA will pay out to avoid any conflicts. This she tells me was a policy to sort of protect NRMA's name so you did not bad month them because of a rejected claim.
This was however around 7 years ago when she was in claims, may have changed now.

Mine dropped as this is the 2nd year of owning the Evo.
$1800 with an excess of 600 + 1100 (adjust) + 1000 (vehicle premium) + 400 (23y/o male) = $3100.
Amount insured $62800 (market value).
Previously the vehicle premium excess was $2000, and I bought this car when I was still 21 so I also had the higher excess too!

I hate my suburb! I was looking at an Evo X MR for fun, quoted $3700 with my NCB.
