One dark and stormy night I decided to lend my car to my mother as her car doesn't have ABS brakes. Apparently there was a large-ish tree across the road which she couldn't stop in time for and this was the end result:
I almost vomited when I saw it , but I'm glad the car did its job and kept my mum safe.
The insurance company IS repairing it. I was very surprised about this as I've seen cars written off for much less damage.
Anyway, I'm worried about the structural integrity of the vehicle after repairs. Repairs do have a lifetime guarantee with my insurer but still..
Any insight would be appreciated.
Otherwise, enjoy the pics and just be glad your CJ is still safe.

If the A-pillar or the front part of the chassis has been bent as a result of the damage, I would demand a replacement. Otherwise everything is just superficial damage and can be repaired. Insurance companies will always do it the cheaper way, so I guess they deemed it more cost-effective to fix your car instead of paying you out.

It didn't appear to be bent to me (but I'm not a qualified auto anything), just squashed pretty badly. There was some minor damage in the engine bay where the housing for the headlights sit, it had been pushed back slightly and was bent.. so I'm also pretty concerned about that.
I did drive it to the authorised repairer and it drove perfectly at around 80KM/H. Didn't go any higher... possible flying car parts.
That being said, I think I'll be rigorously querying the repairers and the insurance company as to how exactly it was repaired.

Glad to hear that everyone is okay.
Had very similar damage to my 2010 Activ.
My insurance has a choice of repairer ( I always pick Mitsubishi over a panel beater to push to get brand new parts rather than trying to fix the broken, also helps if you want ralliart stuff on the side)
If anyone is interested i can upload a item list of all the new parts that Mitsubishi replaced etc. all up it was about 8k worth of work.
luckily I did not have to pay a cent.

Door opens and closes perfectly, Cant take any photos as its been at the repairers for the last week. Still very weary though because the pillar was really badly crushed..
Great to hear about people rejecting the repairs over dust in the paint.. Gives me some hope for the whole thing.

Remove and Replace; just means the actual work of removing the old part and putting it back on.
Report On; Indicates that the item must be verbally mentioned to the customer.
Paint: It is almost impossible to identically match the paint. So they use a 'blend'.
A expert could possibly know but the average joe would have no clue.
Overall i must say that i am impressed with the quality work. everything looks great and I got to visually inspect all of the things that they repaired (radiator support panels) and they looked like new.
I wanted to get a Ralliart Bonnet thrown in instead of replacing the standard one but the quote was it was going to be an extra $1600
I thought that would be a rip because I thought the basic hood costs ~1000$ and both parts were identical but it turns out this is not the case.
but apparently our NA bonnet only costs 800 or so.
Decided to save that money for a future car purchase instead.
