I'm looking at buying a Bluetooth OBD-II dongle from EBay. Only because I've got some OBD type apps on my android phone and just want to have a play. :)

There's about 4 different types on Ebay, that I can see.
All black case with sky blue label.
All back case with orange and blue label.
All blue case with black label.
All black case with black lavel.

No idea what the difference between each of the models are, they all seem to support all the same protocols, including CANBUS.

So whilst I am waiting on an answer from the Ebay sellers. Anyone got one of these or know of anyone that has one (bluetooth, USB, wifi, serial - they all are the same electronics just different PC interfaces) and any shortcomings you've observed/know about?

One of my friends has one of these eBay OBDII-BT devices installed in his E39 530i connected to his iPod Touch. Not sure exactly which one but the general comment is it's really good but it does have a slight lag/delay to it.

Yeah, that's the sort of info I'm after. I've just read some random reviews that people have problems with lag or the update interval of readings, etc. So need to nut out which are crap.... :)

My mate confirmed he has the Kiwi Wifi OBDII reader. Do you have any specific Q's?

I got my BT dongle today. I have a problem with the andorid OBD apps causing the phone CPU to go 100%, i'm running custom ROMs and radio, so I'll have to check out what is going on with my andorid s/w

Mitsubishi can change that in the etachs system - takes about 15 minutes :)
I put OEM Bluetooth in my car and needed it activated thru etachs
