Does the 86 also count towards the free tune? Apparently, BRZs can only be ordered online, and from what I've read, about a year's wait or so for the Toyota.

You could add the new Focus ST to that list :)

I would have bought a 135i if I didn't need more space and more doors...

Also, awesome wife  You're lucky to have that list to pick from

What are you actually looking for in a car?
Second hand, there are a multitude of cars you can look at.

If I just wanted something to drive around in for under $50k
I would probably go the GT86/BRZ, They have alot of potential and well priced, considering that a similar powered DC5R would have set you back close to $40k+ on road costs.. I spent $48k on mine.

If you want something a little more practical, plenty of options avaliable in that list.

Go fast around corners Evo
Street Cred: R34 GTR

Nice Interior: Audi/ BMW

you might also consider upkeeping costs as well, some of the cars in the list arent the cheapest to maintian.

7.1 to 100? Whoever said that is the retard of retards.

adamvrx08 wrote:Squala, i wasnt having a dig at anyone about the suggestion of a commodore or falcon, what I was trying to point out is that they really dont compare to an EVO. Sorry if i didnt explain myself better.

That's cool man. Unintentional heat isn't uncommon in forums, so all good now.

It looks like the guys here have widened your choices. Evo 9 is a good pick. It has that don't-dare-me look, carves corners, and as I have mentioned, could be made a lot better by Merlin. Just make sure you get the 6-speed. I just didn't want to buy used, so I got the RA.

It's also interesting that your wife wants the R34 GT-R. The sedan version would have done well for you and her, but I don't think it's available in that trim. It's a killer on the straights but probably not as sharp as the Evo in the corners. If I remember right, the Australian release was very limited, so you will probably get your hands on an import. The only pain about them is the 180 kph speedo especially when the car can get way past that.

Oh yeah, that's potentially an awesome hot hatch. Hopefully Merc allows users to switch off driving aids unlike the Golfs.

Let me also add the Lexus IS350. It has 335i pace at 135i pricing, and more importantly, is very reliable.

$48K for an Integra, really? Other than the screamer engine, is it worth it? It doesn't have RWD drift or 4WD grip, so did you basically pay for rarity?

Yup.. back when I bought it, the base price was $30K + On roads for the base model.. Type R was $10k more...probably to pay for the Recaros in it..
(Prices are for Brand New)

Hell of a lot of fun to drive and it loved corner even when stock,

Plus I couldn't get insurance on an S15 Spec R at the time! :)

Can't buy insurance? How stupid can they get? The S15 is imported then modified to suit ADR 'standards' making it legal to run. What about Just Car Insurance?

S15 Insurance - I was 24 at the time.
NRMA: We do not inssure drivers under 29 for that car, (The just moved the ages from 25)... Sound like bullshit to me... but Second attempt with a different operator got me the same result.
They where happy to insure the Type R though.

Just Car: $9000
Shannons: We dont insure that car
AAMI: I didnt call them..

In the end I was more than happy with the Teg, If it wasnt for the second baby and the need of 4 doors/ 5 seats.. I would still be driving the Teg.. sold it after 8 years of ownership.
