How you found out about ClubCJ: Google
..anything else you want to entertain us with:

This is my first brand new car, its only been 32 years! I've always wanted a Lancer, so when I saw the latest Activ, I decided to join the club (so to speak). I'm looking forward to taking care of my new Lancer (when I pick it up next week or so) and keeping it to give to my future grand kids... That is, if my wife doesn't try and pinch it off me first; she's eyeing the new car and is trying to dump her 2009 Corolla on me. I told her I don't know how to drive automatic. Heh.

I'm coming off Subaru (yes, crossing over from the dark side) because of reliability issues but I really like the AWD system, so eventually, I'm going to get a Ralliart or Evo for the drivetrain. AWD suits the NT better anyway I reckon, especially for when you go out bush or look for those secret fishing spots.

Anyway, I'm glad to be here and thanks for having me.

Cheers,

E.

Thanks for the warm welcomes all!

Re: Strut Bar

Hi Tac89, how does the brace affect handling of your car? Does it help on corners and under steer? I do like the UR one better than the Whitelines one, for sure!

I know that there is a lot of conflicting opinion on this, as in: some say that in a FWD car, the bracing should be at the back, that's where the flex occurs since all the weight and force is in front, so there is no point in front bracing; while some say that since the driving force is in front, sharing the load between the two wheels gives better grip on the tarmac. And, I don't even want to get started on the oversteer/under steer aspects of adjusting rear and front anti-roll suspension and such.

Personally, having read the lit that came with the car, I reckon that the Lancer is good enough to run without mods at this time, I guess I should try and get used to it and then decide if I need to address any issues or not.

It makes the front end a lot sturdier when you chuck it into a corner but the back end is a bit useless. Sorry not the best at explaining this haha. I also just got new wheels so that makes the handling even better. But I'm thinking of getting the rear one too just don't wanna have to cut my carpet in the boot lol. Hopefully someone else can explain it to you better, I'm not great with cars.

Thanks Mr Charisma!

Tac89, thanks for the input, I appreciate it, since I'm still new to this myself. There are also under carriage strut braces that don't involve the boot, I've seen one like this: http://www.ultra-racingstore.com/Mitsub ... 4-443P.htm

Peddlers also seem like a good place to ask questions, but I understand that they are not cheap. Something to look into down the road anyway.
