So, not too long after fixing the back, I hit a Roo
Word of warning, this is a long post. I had a busy day
Here's the damage after I taped it up to get the car home:
Got it home and took the tape off, the bumper and fender were wrecked, the RH Splash guard inside the wheel arch was somewhere on the highway and the headlight was long gone
Got the car up on stands for the second time in a month and took the bumper off, to find out that my washer bottle had also made a run for it. The bracket on the left that holds the fender in place was bent right back (at least 90 degrees) In this photo I'd already beat it almost in to place. Those styrofoam blocks were interesting, I assume they're to hold the form of the bumper to stop it bending inwards in a light impact.
A shot from the side to show the damage to the fender; this had actually cracked the metal - I almost snapped the end off just trying to remove it.
Front of the car completely stripped, we had a rent inspection coming up too, wasn't sure how they'd take to a car in pieces on the driveway, turns out they understood though and were fine with it.
Lovely pile of broken parts
I shifted those in to the shed before the inspection, probably helped with the "exterior presentation" section. Parts came in to Bunbury Mitsubishi yesterday, managed to fit all this in my mums Fiesta hatch
Got the fender and the bumper on after a couple of hours work, still need to "Persuade" the bracket for the fender a little more, it's not quite in place yet - still 8mm off where it should be
Bonnet back on now, doesn't look too bad with a black bumper. Still gonna get it painted, but instead of vinyl wrapping the centre, I'll get it painted Matte black and then do the Wheel arch moulding chrome nose mod
Just a shot from the other side to show that the black bumper doesn't look too bad - the previous picture was missing a light, and had a black fender. It didn't illustrate my point very well
