Maglite LED Torches on Scoopon - $35 for 3D size

Postby The X » Tue Jun 19, 2012 9:03 pm

I saw these and thought it might twig someone's interest...

31cm long and takes 3 x D batteries for $35 delivered.

http://www.scoopon.com.au/deals/13771/m ... -delivered

Compared to the LED Lenser P5 (single AA) and the larger P7
The P5 has 95 lumens brightness the P7 175 - the maglite has 131 lumens
The P5 has 130m light range - the P7 210m - the maglite has 354 metres!
The P5 has 2 hr rated battery life (with its single AA battery) - the P7 with 4 x AAA (no idea) - this maglite has 79 hrs with it's 3 x D batteries
The P5 and maglite are FL1 rated with 1m drop survival and can survive in the rain with water resistance.
The P& is submersible to 1m.

Oh and the maglite at it's hefty 31cm length makes a good weapon too! :P

No idea how much this weighs...

Far out 354m. And 79 hours! The p7 chews through the batteries. Might have to have a look at this maglite.

Looks to be about the same size as my P14. Seems pretty decent for that price, although I've already got too many torches to get this one.

I have one of these and i luv it. Its the best for going out camping or looking for those dam drop bears! I keep it in my car and although its huge it makes me feel safe, not that i think i would ever use it on anyone, but u never know when the zombies r coming ;)
There is a smaller one-3c which fits perfectly in the pocket on the door of the lancer, but its not led :(
I can highly recommend this torch. and yeah its heavy! Might have to buy another one.

Guys, I have one of these from an earlier group buy type thing (not Scoopon site but similar) the best part is, a 3D Mag fits perfectly lying down in the door card pocket on the driver or front passenger doors in our CJ Lancers. ;)

We all know Maglites are only really bought as legal baton/percussive weapons, the incandescents are pretty much hopeless as a light source. The luxeon LED modules in these changes that however, and makes it into a usable light source!
