Trails and Photos and Specs - Oh My!
Hey all!
I thought I'd add my two cents worth and give you the lowdown on the bikes!
Blade is riding a Merida Big 9 TFS 300-D.
This hardtail 29er mountain bike is great for long distance cross-country, all terrain marathons. The 29 inch wheels have far less rolling resistance than normal 26 inch mountain bike wheels, allowing easier negotiation of obstacles.
Razoxane is riding a Merida Crossway 100-D.
It's a flat bar road bike with light offroad capabilities. Blade ever so kindly fitted a set of XLC Bent Bar Ends for me, to provide a variation in riding position - really helps with comfort on the longer rides!
The friendly folks at 99 Bikes in Artarmon got us all set up - if you're looking for a good bike at a great price with awesome service, give them a call!
We went for the flatbar/mountain bike style as we want to do more than just road cycling. On the training list are some bush trails such as Manly Dam, and Lane Cove National Park.
The videos are from Trailflix - a multimedia portal to Sydney mountain biking trails & off-street cycleways, including videos, photos, news and maps - great for scoping out new training areas!
Got any other questions about us, our bikes, training or fundraising? - ask away!
Also, if anyone would like to join us on a training ride, we'd love have the company and meet some more CCJ'ers who ride
Post a reply, or send us a PM to tee up a ride!
To wrap up, here are some pics from a recent ride around Homebush:

Hey Nick,
Due to circumstances from work i wont be able to attend, but will be donating to support the great cause. As most of us, I too have seen my family affected by this horrible thing.
I would have loved to be there, but as Doreen said too, I take my hate off to you guys for doing such a great thing!
Regards
Tim

@ Nick & Jade ..... Great Intentions & Commitment by you both.
Unfortunately Cancer has become a commonly versed word in today's vocabulary, and a condition identified by practically everyone either through first or associated experiences.
My Dad has been suffering from Bladder Cancer for the past 4yrs, of which I've been there beside & for him throughout many & numerous procedures & operations.
All the Best to you both for your Commitments & Efforts and Enjoy a Safe Ride ......
I'm pleased to have made a small donation to you both ...
Hope to see you on Saturday.
