Evening All

Hope everyone's OK n all, I was wondering if anyone could help with some questions about a lancer I plan on buying?

I have a new lancer VRX with CVT automatic at the top of my list at the momment, now I've heard some bad things about the CVT and that it has a high pitch sound coming from the engine and a few other more serious issues related to hot weather etc, I was wondering if that problem still persists in the latest models and is the CVT actually worth anything or is it better to get a manual?
I wants me quality before quantity.

CVT is very smooth. Doesn't make any funny sounds apart from the CVT sound which sounds a bit different to normal autos. No issue in any weather conditions. Performs pretty well.

I Agree Adam ....I Have the CVT Even Though I haven't had any trouble with it I don't like the sound of the CVT Personally .... Kev The best thing to do is take both the CVT & The Manual for a Test drive *car* You will be the best To Judge both to your liking .... And as for having trouble with the CVT In hot weather  No I haven't & I haven't heard of any one eles that has .....

Welcome to the club!
Although I've never driven a CVT I tend to agree with Dora Anne best to test drive both and see what you prefer.

Thanks everyone for your help, went out for the test drive today in the vrx cvt, besides the sports suspension it was a smooth ride, and yeah the noise isn't as bad as I read about, I can easily drown it out with the rockford fosgate audio system in it very easily.

Should be getting the new vrx in the next 2 weeks. Damn those sales reps tho, they just don't know when to stop lol.
