Short Shifter - TWM vs Torque Solution

Hi guys,

I'm very much interested in buying a short shifter soon and I was wondering what you guys would recommend out of the TWM Shifter or Torque Solution Shifter or other brand I'm not aware of.

I can get the Torque Solution for $130 with metal bushings or the TWM for $182 with metal bushings. Is the $50 worth going for the TWM?

*They both offer RHD variants.

Just checked shipping costs for both:
TWM was $55
TS was $17

UPDATE

So I got the TS shifter delivered in about 7 days which was nice. The shifter and bushings came nicely packaged with no damage to them.

The whole process took about 90 minutes and I'm very happy with the final product. Each shift feels very solid and precise. Once they shifter gets worn in and I get used to the shorter distance, it will be perfect.

Installation was really not hard with the instructions available in their PDF. The hardest part was probably removing the cup at the end of the shifter. The rest was unscrewing, unclipping and replacing - and that was quite easy!

The Torque Solutions does not mention a RHD model. Might be worth checking with them.

I had the TWM shifter. 'twas a good shifter,

smooth shifts, not clunky

I HAVE a TWM shifter. It's awesome!!!

Heard that the TS shift is shorter. 50% V 35%

Nope, wrong. 32% (TS) v 30% (TWM).

They say 32% for TS and 30% for TWM :)

I have the TWM Shifter very happy, good instructions. good feel when driving in traffic and spirited. A weighted shift knob would help it too. I have stuck with stock till i find one i like the look of.

I got the weighted piston knob thing from TWM, feels pretty good to shift with!

Since there was over $100 difference with shipping between TWM and TS, I decided to order the TS and give them a go!

I ended up paying $149 with bushings and postage.

I'll make sure to post my thoughts after it's installed :D

Let us know on the quality of the package as well.

And yeah, TWM are a touch expensive. Cost me $350.00 all up...

Can i be really ignorant and ask what makes a short shifter better than stock? Is it less drag on everything because it's not as tall? So smoother shifts?

They basically just reduce the throw distance by 30%.

the distance between gears is alot shorter, so when you want to quick shift it is alot quicker and smoother because there is less travel
