I got $6G off my Lancer SX.
When my wife bought he Mazda 2, I walked them up $4G on the trade, and then got another grand off the new car.
Traders will undercut you on the trade all the time. That's the rules.
Bring the trade in late, say that you changed your mind. Then when they give you a price on it, say its not good enough, and that you'll leave.
