I have a 2011 sedan so is it just a case of replacing the bulb with a LED one if so what do I and where can I purchase them please also does anyone know if it will void my warranty at all? Many thanks.
Search up T20 Cree on eBay. Returns a few results, but they all seem much too expensive ($30-$50). It won't void your warranty as long as it isn't found to be the cause of a problem (i.e. Bulb screws up your electrical system).
I wish they'd re-open the GB for the Cree bulbs (hi ofey, this is my EOI ) http://clubcj.net/viewtopic.php?t=8135& ... sc&start=0.
EDIT: the $30-$50 figure was for indicator bulbs...which I'm trying to find for a fair price. The ones that came with the LED Tail lights are pale yellow (and don't look nice). White LED's for ~$12 seem fine but I don't really need them.

Found these on ebay

What’s the difference between the 13 LED lamp and the Cree Q5?
Also just found these

13 LED one uses low power SMD's (generic). They are bright, but definitely no cree.
The cree is just one high power SMD with a lens (usually with more output). It's more or less an extremely compact LED Lenser (bad comparison?).
And the last one uses the traditional LED bulbs, good for night time but probably invisible during the day (useless for indicators of course). Here's a video comparing some LED indicators... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WKqQpy4FHp8
I think the only problem is that we need load resistors (50W ~3-8 Ohm) which rack up a lot of heat. Relays wouldn't work because apparently they've been intergrated into some unit behind the glovebox and not a relay in the fusebox. This is for the idicators btw
(obligatory) cree LED pics to give you an idea:

Ok thanks starting to get a bit too hard all I want is to take the ones I have out and replace them with something brighter. I think I will go see an Auto Electrician.

Note, the resistors only need to be used with the indicators. You can swap out the reverse lights without any problems.

Dungogvolts wrote:Ok I did not know that. So can you or someone recommend something to replace my reversing blubs? Or tell me what I should look for ie: length ect. FYI I am not that smart when it comes to electrical stuff on cars. Any of the two links I posted ok?
If you check the thread I linked to for the last (failed) group buy for the Cree LED reverse lights, the clearance is given as ~7cm. So both of the bulbs you linked to should work.

I just went to JayCar and saw my contact there. He gave me T10 LEDs.
They fit in the socket EASY! Its not dark enough yet to test properly, but even after just putting one in, I could see a massive massive difference already.
So the answer is a big YES! While us sportsback owners can't get the full LED package, we can get the individual globes for the reverse lights. Unfortunately I can't say how much they are, as I got them for free haha. Gotta love jaycar.

What is the Jaycar catalogue number for the globes you got i.e. which of the white ones on this page:

I purchased these http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... 0865012986 for my sedan and same as Craig not super bright but better than the old ones. On the minus side they now are a bit to bright for my reversing cam.
