ok so story goes like this

on my way home last thursday i got pulled over by the redcliff traffic c.... in an unmarked RA and given 2 fines.... 1 was for an excessive noisy instrument in my car (my stereo) and 2 was for a modified exhaust....

when he gave me the fine i tried to explain that i drove the car off the show room floor with that exhaust but he said he didnt care and if i continue to drive my car around he will pull me over and hand me a fine every time he sees me.... he even offered to show me the exhaust on his car (dont know why cos its a completely different set up)

well today while i was at work my parents drove over to the police station where the officer comes from and spoke to him.... they showd the .... a letter from mitsubishi stating the car was purchased that way but he said it has to be acompanied by a letter stating the DB rating of the exhaust.... which was fair enough but then he added the comment in "i wouldnt have bought my son such an expensive car with an expensive stereo in the first place"... (which is BS cos i paid for my car and am still paying for it)

spoke to mitsu and they said if i can take my car to them on friday they will get all the sound levels tested etc... so see what happens

well the copper also told my parents my car is too low which is shit cos your car has to be 100mm off the ground so i broke out the tape measure and the lowest point on my car is 101mm

you better watch out tadz.... a young fella like yourself with an expensive car, flash wheels and a bit of BOOM BOOM in the back you might make them jealous enough to pull you over

Is the exhaust on it a custom exhaust? Idc if you bought it that way, is it non-stock?

Someone tell the cop he's an ignorant prick btw if he's trying to compare it to the RA exhaust. Just one look tells you its different - the RA has two!

Yeah i know, half the mods on my car aint legal. But their ones you actually have to look for. Its mainly the lights on my car that are illegal. My wheels were illegal were they were, but their getting fixed atm so they become legal

How did they know your car was too low, did they measure it? or did they just assume it was too low?

With the lowness thing - a 1mm difference is WAY too close...

That might actually be a fair call - the car is going to go up and down with the suspension..

well he was laying on the floor trying to get underneath my car taking pictures of my exhaust and all kinds of crap.... i could understand the harrassment if i was a piece of shit drug dealer waiting for the kids as they come out of school but i was driving home from work

coz all ive heard about lowering your car is good, better cornering, handeling and effientcey.

to tell you the truth tadz i have no idea.... its all bullshit cos i must drive past atleast 5 or 6 utes with massive mudflaps and exhaust stacks that come up the side of the cab.... 4X4's that are dangerously high wit mud tires that hang out past the gaurds and its like the police dont see that

Yeah i suppose...But people bash the shit outa those sorta cars. Us lancers with nice wheels and details get picked on for being hoons or being dangerous drivers. which aint the case.
