Nokya headlights

Postby Momengah » Thu Apr 12, 2012 4:53 am

I just bought a set of Nokya headlights in the states. Has anyone heard of these? 7000k 80w. Any opinions reviews etc?

Being 7000k, they are going to be very blue, which will actually reduce performance of your headlights.

Also being 80watt, and the stock being about 55watt you may find them making your plastic lens on the headlight go black due to them getting too hot.

I would be wary installing them myself, but have never run them to know for sure.

I have the nokya stock wattage in mine, they are a pretty good balance for me. They are quite white but still enough light output. I think from memory they are 6000K ones.

ahh damn. too late to exchange them now. i guess i might give them a try to see how it goes...

if the plastic lens on the headlight does go black because of it, is it hard to fix and or replace?

I would imagine it would be a bitch to fix mate, headlights out first and then opening them up etc.

How much did you get yours for and from where? I still want to change my lights but without the risk of killing my headlights.

Got mine from blingwork_automotive_lighting on eBay. Mine are actually 7000k not 6000 as I thought they were. They are NOT blue though. Very nice white light. Arctic white are the ones I got. $50 a pair.

That's also the same seller I buy my lights from. Thanks for the tip on these bulbs. They look nice. If what they are saying in the item description is correct its a good balance between seeing things and having white bulbs. ^_^

I find them ok. Obviously they are not as effective as a "yellower" globe will be but I'm very happy with mine.

80 watts is kinda significantly more than the default 55.

I guess if it weren't your low beams, ie. high beams or fogs that gets occasional short term use, it should be fine. But I dunno about 80 watt main lights. It could start to melt the plastic reflectors and/or short your wiring. I'd be weary - but it may be paranoid. talk

Thanks for this guys. I'm going to try get to the shop and exchange it before i fly out of LA tonight. Hopefully they'll allow this. I think i might get the highbeams too while i'm at it. At least i know what the specs are now and am prepared.
